First day off in two weeks.......thought it might be a good idea to get my winter steelies on.

Painted them body color (base coat/clearcoat), pinstriped them with the same pinstripe that's on the body and a fresh set of Blizzaks.

I bought a set of Rally Armour mudflaps a couple months ago, been waiting to switch over to the winter tires to install them.

I kinda like the way it looks with the steelies.

If I didn't currently hate my Elantra, I would totally go out, buy some steelies, and do what you did. It really looks good.

More cars need color-matched steelies as a factory option...

Just curious.....what don't you like about it?

I thought it would be kinda like a throwback to the 60's when most American cars had color matched steelies. I know my car isn't American, but I had a hunch it would look pretty good.

It's a 2014 limited with a tad over 7,000 miles. I've had it in the shop 8 times, and more than 30 cumulative days for recurring transmission issues, and a burning smell under acceleration. They have replaced the transmission, and supposedly a yaw sensor, but it is still not fixed. The manufacture even sent in engineers to work on it for two weeks to try and fix it. From a visual standpoint, it is a gorgeous car, but mechanically, it is an absolute nightmare.

It definitely looks pretty good! In the thumbnail I was like "uhhh.. wtf" but seeing the full picture, I like it quite a bit. Possibly the coolest FWD Hyundai around. lol

Who's awesome? You're awesome. This looks fantastic, I'd love to do it on a red car.

Yeah, that kinda sucks. Mine has the older and smaller 1.8 liter engine as it's a lower version of Elantra.

Mine has about 4,000 miles so far.....I haven't had any issues whatsoever.

It would definitely give off a Fire Department vibe... which would be awesome

I too have the 1.8. From the looks of things, I'm pretty sure yours is windy sea blue, which means it came from the factory in Korea. Mine is Indigo blue, and was an Alabama made car. I'm hoping for your sake that the Korean made Elantras have better quality.

Yup, I have the Windy Sea Blue.......I know you aren't supposed to buy a car based on its color, but I really, really like this color. I didn't realize until after I bought it that it was built in Korea- I thought they all were built in Alabama.

Hell, I bought my Indigo blue based off of its color. I've started on the lemon law, and hope to have a resolution within 30 days.

I'm so happy right now. Got a call from corporate about 30 minutes ago. I am leaving school early friday to meet with someone from corporate, if I can get the car to show the problem, then he will be starting the buyback process.
